Welcome to Honri Hats, a Cotswold based company formed by Paul Baynham-Honri. Paul has for many years gained expertise in the making, measuring and fitting of bespoke equestrian and formal headwear and has gathered a globally based clientele.

A few years ago, due to changes in Equestrian Sport regulations, he saw that the traditional riding hat customer he had worked with for many years was going to be forgotten, so started his own range of bespoke headwear. This consists of Traditional Hunt Caps, Top Hats both new and Vintage Silk Hats for both equestrian, Professional & Social use. In addition, we offer both riding and lightweight Bowler Hats. We also offer a full range of repair and refurbishment of all hats that we supply and specialise in the renovation of antique Silk Top Hats, all carried out by skilled craftsmen at our London workshop.

Honri Hats are made exclusively for us in a small London based workshop and between us we have over 50 years' experience in the making and fitting of traditional bespoke formed hats. The phase "formed hats" means that the hat is made up of a body that is then covered. We use the traditional method of a Gossamer body for all our formed hats. This can range from a traditional Hunt Cap or Top Hat to a Bi-Corn, Tri-corn or Beefeaters hat.

All our customers are measured using a conformature, which enables your hat to be fitted to your head shape. Over the years we have built up a large library of customer head shapes, so when they come to re order or send a hat through for restoration, we have at hand all the details required to ensure the perfect fit.

With new customers, it is imperative that you be measured properly by Paul in order to gain your correct head dimensions and to discuss the right style of hat for you. We hold a limited stock of hunt caps and bowlers, so in some cases we can fit out in one visit.

Mostly hunt caps are made to order, so a further visit for a fitting is required, where you will walk away with your new cap. This may be at our Cotswold base or at one of the many shows that Honri Hats attend or occasionally at our London workshop. We also have an ever changing stock of vintage silk top hats, which are all fully restored as required prior to sale and can be viewed and tried.

Honri Hats are based in the 18th Century Frogmarsh Mill in South Woodchester, situated near Stroud, Gloucestershire. You will also find us at many shows and events around the country during the Summer months including Badminton HT, Royal Windsor, Devon County & Peterborough Festival of Hunting.
