Wine Valuation - Turn your passion into profit

Fine wine has returned an average of 10.6% per year over the last 30 years.

How’s your wine collection/investment performing?

When the time comes to part with your liquid assets and reap the rewards of your wine investment, you will want to ensure you get the highest wine valuation for your cases. That’s where we come in.

Choosing where to sell your wine is almost as important as choosing where you bought your wine from in the first place.

We believe that this process should be done quickly and easily but with complete transparency and confidence.

From our experience of buying and valuing thousands of cases, complete cellars, and massive wine collections, we’ve collated the below points to help make sure you’ve got everything required to ensure that selling your wine is a stress-free process:

● Provenance: Showing the wine came from a reputable source and has been stored in optimal conditions is important, so make sure you have proof of storage and ownership history to hand.

● Storage: Wine is an organic product and can spoil if it’s not kept in ideal conditions - a cool and consistent temperature is the most important thing. Preferably, bottles should be kept on their side in dark, cool, vibration free conditions and at the right humidity.

● Condition: Again, this comes down to how the bottles of wine have been stored, a buyer will be looking for things like: torn labels, staining to the labels, cut capsules, cork seepage, corks sunken or protruding, import strips, fill levels, and the colour of wine.

● Original wooden cases (OWC): Non-OWC wines are harder to find buyers for, meaning you’ll likely receive a lower offer for those cases/bottles.

● Drinking Window: Some wines are made to have the ability to age for a few years and others can age well for decades. If your wine has gone past its peak maturity, then it could become very difficult to sell.

Don’t worry if you don’t condition reports to hand, we can provide these.

Whether you’re looking to sell a wine investment portfolio or downsize your fine wine collection, our experts can help you value and sell your fine wine.
